Becoming Disciples on Mission

Responding to God’s call, we, therefore, dedicate ourselves to the mission of living out our call to be His people of joy – channels of hope and bearers of His gospel of peace, justice and salvation.

We commit ourselves to the universality of His mission. In our service to the Church, we help promote the Kingdom of Christ around the world through evangelization, the building of Christian communities, helping in the promotion of Christian unity, and defending the authentic gospel. We offer ourselves to the work of stemming the tide of evil, especially in Asia where we believe the Lord has called us and our entire nation to be a light in darkness.

We commit our resources, facilities, homes and families to the mission that Christ has given us. This stems out of our acknowledgment that everything belongs to Him.

We recognize that, as we fulfill our evangelization task, we share in the call that Jesus sounded to the whole Church: a task to which we are called in support of the Church’s larger effort.

We recognize that this mission has become even more urgent in view of the moral, ethical and material devastation that now burden our land.

We believe that it was by God’s grace that we established Couples for Christ, Familia and Women For Christ so that more families may be renewed and together form a community of families to serve the parishes.

We believe that it was by God’s grace that we organized the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals so that the daily transactions of businesses and professions may be redeemed by the power of the gospel.

We believe that it was by God’s grace that we formed Christ’s Youth In Action and Ang Lingkod Ng Panginoon so that young people may find their way to Christ and be His instruments for a glorious future.

We believe that it was following God’s call that we established the Institute for Pastoral Development so that more men and women may be trained to take care of God’s people and to preach and teach the Word of God.

We believe that the poor and the oppressed need to hear the Christian message of hope – the only true hope – to free them from the pit of despair and from the false promises of other ideologies.

Thus, by God’s grace, we built the Tahanan Ng Panginoon to enshrine Christ’s liberating presence among the poor in the slum areas of the metropolis.

We believe that the rich and the powerful, too, need to hear the same Christian message so that as they embrace the Lordship of Jesus, they may enjoy the privilege of utilizing our resources and strengths for the spread of the Good News.

We recognize that the poor and the rich are called by God to work together in the task of transforming our society so that it can be more just and humane according to the standards of our Lord.

For this task itself is part of proclaiming His Gospel.

We recognize that as we dedicate ourselves to this mission, we are called to risk our lives, property, homes, reputation and relationships for the sake of the gospel of Christ.

For we have no greater joy than to see that in the fullness of time, all things in the heavens and on the earth may be one under Christ’s headship (Ephesians 1:10).
