A parade of new banners, the celebration of the Eucharist, the installation of three Sector Coordinators, three District Coordinators, and one Senior Head Coordinator, a powerful time of worship, a sumptuous feast, plus a fun-filled show of great talent was how Ligaya celebrated its 35th anniversary at the Ateneo College Covered Courts last July 18, 2010. “More Of God, More For God” was the inspired theme for this celebration.
It all began with the parade of (new) banners. For this year’s celebration, Dennis Castillo, the coordinator-in-charge, assigned each of the 17 districts two banners to design and create, to replace the old set of banners that Ligaya would traditionally parade at the start of the anniversary. What resulted was a show of talent and gifts, a show of color, and a refreshing new look to the parade of the prophetic word spoken to the community. It was a meaningful way for each district and the entire community to honor God’s faithful presence and guidance to Ligaya through all of its 35 years.
Coordinators Installed
Three new District Coordinators were installed: Leo Banog, Initiations Coordinator for North Sector; Toby Estrella and Jim Orbe as Coordinators for the University District. Three new Sector Coordinators were installed: Andy Juan (North), Melmarx Marcojos (Central), and Rey Icasas (South). And finally, Spanky Meer was installed as Ligaya’s new SENIOR HEAD COORDINATOR.
The Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by Fr. Herb, Fr. Dave, Fr. Geo and Fr. Paul. ”There’s always a call to give more,” Fr. herb said during his homily.
“We should ask for great grace,” Fr. Schneider said, “to light a fire, to give our lives in service, to be Christ to others, to have a deep longing to come back to God and draw strength from Him in order to be effective in the mission, and to go deeper and closer to the heart of Jesus.”

I am eduardo catindig from Milan Italy, I accidentally found this website of Ligaya ng Panginoon where it came into my mind that the community I am in now comes from this group. Our Community is Familia Community of Milan Italy, and it is heade by Bro. Ronald Delos Angeles, It was brought here by Sis Adora Javier. Ihave heard from them that this community comes from Ligaya ng Panginoon , then Couples for christ before it was formed here as Famila Community. As a new member, since I have no experience in joining a community even in the Phillipines, I am obseerving the works of a community. This Community is about 6 years already and still very small in membership compared to others. During my short stay about 6 months I have seen a lot of problems whitin the community. I thought when i joind the community It will guide me to the right path but it seems that I am now a part of the problem and I would say that It is the lORD who brought me here to be a part of the solution and not the problem. The first thing I just want to know about this Community is its Mission and Vision where all Communities have, and I was informed that thay dont have that documents. Well of course all have almost the same mission and vision which is to Serve the Lord and to spread the word of God through fellowship. But since we are of different organization naow I just want to know this and also its By Laws. I hope someone can help me to enlightem my mind and to help our community to grow in the Spirt of the LORD. Thank You and God Bless.
GREETINGS FROM NEW YORK !!!
Looking through this page brings me a lot of nostalgia from the day we have heard the Lord in 1975 “Kayo ang aking ligaya…”. Now that we are in the USA, we have brought the apoostolic zeal with us through the teachings and formation we have received. Our exposure with LNP, Word of Joy and The MASCCR secretariat are now the tools I am able to use in my own parish in Queens. This year the Lord has given me a task to be part of the pastoral council in our parish. I just have to recall what we did then and apply them wherever they are needed in the parish – be it leadership or stewardship.
When Finita and I left the Philippines, we were technically no longer a part of community but living here in NY we found out that we have not left the
community because community is part of us through our relationship with Jesus. Our mindset and posture of the heart have been transformed to serve not only LNP but the church at large through the parish and missions. We are still Ligaya (at large) and are able to continue the mission He has in store for us and the other members (Linda, Alex, Mariese, Me-Ann, Bronet, Mona, Edith, Mimi, and others whom the Lord sends from time to time). We meet every 1st Saturday as a fraternal group to continue to live the way of life. We are able to share the mission by sharing the joy and love of Christ with one another.
We are open to anywhere the Lord sends us. When Tuesday invited us to join CFC, we accepted it gladly and now part of the weekly household – more of support and resource sharing to our new brothers and sisters. This is the unity that Christ is praying for. Evangelism knows no boundary, labels nor brands. We grow and bloom where we are planted by our Lord.
A holy and happy anniversary to all.
Hugs and embraces
Lito and Finita
